Creative Image Studios (CIS) are professional studio rental spaces.

Payment is for rental of the studio only. Lighting, paper, etc are charged at the regular rates.

There is no guarantee that a space will be available at the time you want, but with 4 studios and a limited number of packages there is a high probability that a space can be found.

Bookings will be made through the on-line system. If two bookings are in process at the same time, the one with the earliest date and time stamp will have precedence. Minimum 4 hours per booking.

Bookings not used in the two month period are not carried forward.

Hours are not transferable, the purchasing photographer is expected to be in the studio while the time is being used.

“Extra” hours (hours used after prepaid time has been used) will be charged at a discounted rate.

Storage of photographers props and equipment is not included unless the package specifically states that it does.

Anything left in the studio can and will be used by anyone else and may be removed and discarded.

Photographers are expected to “play nice”. Anyone who becomes difficult to deal with, holds time that they don’t use, leaves the studio in a state that is worse then when they arrived, etc will be asked to no longer use these service. In this case unused portions of the prepayment will be refunded and all future bookings cancelled.

As time and situations dictate, these terms and conditions will evolve. Participants in the programs will be notified, and, if they so desire can decline to continue if the changes do not fit well with them.

Time in the studios is charged in 15 minute intervals.

Start time is your arrival time or booking start time, whichever is earlier

Finish time is when the studio is empty and all talent and crew have left the space.

Deposits are used to hold the time you have booked
Cancellation 48+ hours in advance will be refunded
(there will be a $10 handling fee)
Cancellation 48- hours in advance will only be refunded if a replacement can be found to take your place.
(there will be a $20 handling fee)
If CIS cancels the event for any reason a full refund will be applied

Payment in full is expected at the end of the session.

Valid forms of payment are Cash, Visa, AMEX, Mastercard, debit, e-Mail transfer and Paypal. Cheques are also accepted if discussed before session starts, and with proper id.

We expect all participants in your session to act in a professional manner.
Charges are for the use of the studios, and you are expected to confine your session to the studio. Common areas of the building are not included in the rental and should be used accordingly (it is not acceptable or fair to other tenants of the building, to use washrooms for make-up or change rooms, or to use hallways for holding areas or shooting spaces).

In order to pay for breakage and extra clean-up costs, sessions that have more then 9 people in the studio will be charged an extra $25 per person. This charge may be waived if discussed previous to the session.

Note on Video Productions

9 Davies Ave, where CIS and several other rental studios are located, is an old building. Sound travels through the floors and the walls. We have some studios that are better then most spaces in the building since they are located on the top floor, but sound could still be an issue. If sound is critical, 9 Davies might not be the building for you.

The session can be cancelled at any time for any reason at the discretion of CIS. This can happen if the session gets out of hand, or there are other problems such as flood, fire, power outage, etc.
